Ten eligible comparative studies were included, assessing stone-free rate, operative time, length of hospital stay, and complications. Mini-PCNL consistently demonstrated higher stone-free rates, particularly for lower-pole stones and calculi >15 mm, while RIRS was associated with shorter hospitalization and lower invasiveness. Overall complication rates were generally comparable, although mini-PCNL showed a slightly greater hemoglobin drop and longer admission, whereas RIRS more frequently required auxiliary procedures or retreatment. These findings suggest that mini-PCNL may be preferred when maximal stone clearance is the primary treatment goal, while RIRS remains an appropriate option for selected patients prioritizing faster recovery and reduced invasiveness.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
This systematic review evaluated the comparative efficacy, safety, and perioperative outcomes of mini-percutaneous nephrolithotomy (mini-PCNL) and retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) for the treatment of 10\u201320 mm renal stones.
