We developed and validated a PROM to evaluate subjective patient symptoms during and after bladder cancer treatment. PROM development followed literature review, expert consensus and patient interviews to guide PROM content and style. The resulting BLAST PROM is a 15-item PROM assessing 4 domains - storage LUTS (6 items), pain (3 items), haematuria (3 items) and overall bother (3 items). The PROM was piloted across three centres in test-retest fashion to patients undergoing bladder cancer investigation and treatment. Statistical validation demonstrated strong reliability, internal consistency and reproducibility, with responsiveness to treatment confirmed.
